Culture Durham Partnership brought together cultural organisations and partners from across County Durham to make the case that culture changes lives: that it builds pride in place, sparks creativity and innovation, and creates jobs that help people and communities thrive.
With support from Arts Council England and Durham County Council, the Partnership worked to join up the county's cultural sector and supported the development of Into the Light, the county-wide place-based cultural programme.
Culture County Durham builds on that work. It is developing as an independent, county-wide voice for culture and the creative industries: strengthening collaboration, advocating for culture's social and economic value, and helping County Durham be heard regionally and nationally.
Interim Advisory Group
The transition is being guided by an interim advisory group while governance and leadership arrangements are developed:

What happens next
We want to get this right, so over the coming months we are setting out the governance, leadership and operating model for Culture County Durham.
